The Life of Patricia Ann Hatcher

Patricia Ann Hatcher peacefully departed this life on Thursday, July 20, 2023, in Olathe, Kansas. She was born in New Orleans, LA, on August 2, 1949, to the late James and Dorothy Lucky.

During her life, Patricia wore many hats. She was a loving and devoted daughter to her parents. She was the “always there, no matter what” big sister to her eight younger siblings. She was an amazing, faithful, and loving mother to her two daughters. She was a wise mother-in-law to her two sons-in-law. She was the best Gramz and Meme ever to her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Others knew her as an aunt, Godmother, cousin, and friend.

Patricia gave her life to the Lord at an early age and lived daily in His love and grace throughout her life. She gave that love and grace freely to her family, friends and whoever crossed her path. Patricia left a legacy of how to forgive, live, and love well.

Patricia was a lifelong member of the Church and when she wasn’t loving and serving her family, she could be found loving and serving others in various church ministries. Patricia was most recently a member of the Salvation Army Church since 2007. Before health challenges slowed her down in 2017, Patricia could regularly be found serving in Vacation Bible School, bell ringing during Christmas, and participating in other church ministries.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy Lucky; three siblings, Linda Sue, James, Jr., and Elnora Lucky; and her son-in-law James Craig.

She leaves to celebrate her life, cherish her memories, and carry on her legacy, daughters Ulylessia Craig and Dorothy (Oscar) Mukanjiri; grandchildren Patricia Angiel, Alexandra Larkins, James, Jhaiden, and Jharyn Craig, and Ian and Olivia Mukanjiri; great grandchildren Renee’ Hatcher, Prestigious and Preston Tate, and Maddox and Mason McKimm; siblings Barbara (Moses) Elmore, Melba Hart, Rosemary (Ray) Stewart, and Allen and Silas Lucky; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
