The Life of Mrs. Sharon M. Norman

Sharon Mae Norman (nee: Dixon), 65 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic, following a brief illness.

 

She was born April 2, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio. Sharon had made her home in Lorain for the last forty-three years. 

 

She was employed as a commercial house cleaner for multiple businesses throughout the county. Sharon’s lifelong passion for animals made her volunteer work at Erie Shores Animal Protective League a labor of love. She had mercy and compassion for all animals, caring for the forsaken domestic, and wild creatures alike.

 

Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Charles David Norman; her children, Lynn Meilander (Teddy) of Oberlin, Mandy Krueck (Keith) of Lorain, Joe Dixon (Dawn) of Wellington, Bobby Hopwood and Dustin Norman (Patsy) both of Lorain; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her father, Raymond Dixon of Lorain; and her sisters, Marion Stanton (Ricky) and Rayan Cales (Carl) both of Lorain; as well as a niece and numerous nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Dixon on August 14, 2018, and infant son Billy Ray Hopwood in 1973.

 

Friends may call Friday, May 26, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

 

Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
