The Life of BOUNXAY SITHIPHONG

Bounxay Sithiphong, 77, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Vientiane, Laos on May 1, 1946, to Say and Singthong Sithiphong.

Bounxay worked for DMACC as a ground’s keeper. He was a member of Laos Community Temple, where is was a retired treasure of the Temple. Bounxay was a patient, friendly, happy and, kindhearted man. Very giving and was always positive. He loved his grandchildren and always placed others before himself. Bounxay didn’t talk much but when he did he was very powerful.

Bounxay is survived by his wife, Om; sons, Bond Sithiphong and Goy Sithiphong and daughter, Mai Sithiphong and daughter-in-law, Ann Sisoukpanthong. Step children; sons, Nik Vansylalom, Chans Vansylalom and Seng Vansylalom; daughters, Lilly Vonsylalom and Lexi Vansylalom and 17 grandchildren; sister, Boulay Sithiphong and brothers, Khambay Sithiphong and Siphay Sithiphong.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 2:30 p.m., at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa.
