The Life of Carole Bellino Rotfeld

Carole Bellino Rotfeld passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 84. Carole’s loved ones will remember her best for her kindness, generosity, fun sense of humor and great style.

An avid travel aficionado, Carole would return from one international adventure already talking about plans for the next. Conversations were peppered with anecdotes about the places she and her beloved late husband, Berl Rotfeld, visited and the people they befriended along the way. She loved children and never missed an opportunity to spoil them. Carole was also a big sports fan, and Phanatically followed her Phillies.

Carole and her sister, Elena Costello, owned and operated the San Marco Restaurant in Bala Cynwyd for 27 years. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy on Rittenhouse Square.

Enthusiastically enjoying Italy, practical jokes, exercising, the color orange, PBS, movies, and shoes were a few of her favorite things.

In addition to Elena, Carole is survived by her niece, Kara Ferber Gordon, her nephew Robert A. Ferber, Jr., daughter-in-law Amanda McCutcheon, Steve (Fern) Rotfeld, Bruce (Arlene) Rotfeld, and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren she and Berl shared.

A brief gravesite ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. on May 25, 2023, at West Laurel Hills Cemetery, 225 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Carole’s memory.

Wonderful Memories

Carole was 14 when I was born. We lived together for 3 years in a multi generational house. She was more like a big sister than a cousin. She had such an influence on me over the years to come, being responsible for many of my first experiences. I understand now why I love shoes, orange is my favorite color, I love to travel, entertain, and am an avid Philly sports fan. Her influences were many. I'll miss you dear cousin.

Love, Denise
