The Life of Mr. Timothy Bryan Firestone

Timothy Bryan Firestone, 66, of Spring Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at home.

Born Sunday, August 12, 1956, in York, he was a son of the late James R., Sr. and Gertrude L. (McFadden) Firestone.

From childhood, Tim was interested in the ways that things work, and for much of his life, there were few mechanical things that he could not fix. As a teenager, he learned a trade through his job at Dentsply and became an accomplished machinist. He recently retired from Ammac after more than 30 years producing parts on vintage Greenlee machines. An avid “gearhead,” Tim loved classic cars and motorcycles. He was never more at home than he was while cruising sunny backroads. He also had keen interest in classic movies, especially silent era comedy and early black and white horror films. In recent years, many mornings, you would catch him enjoying his first cups of black coffee while watching reruns of Perry Mason.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Amanda Firestone and her husband Michael Rowland of Tampa, FL; a brother, Jim R. Firestone, Jr.; a sister, Edith Firestone; many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by a sister, Jody Fink.

Following cremation, the family will celebrate Tim’s life with a memorial service that will be announced at a later date.

Tim loved animals, so in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York PA 17406. https://ycspca.org/
