John F. Westermann, 64, of Prospect Park, PA, died May 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by his wife and children. Son of Harry and Helen (nee White) Westermann, he was born in Darby. A lifetime Delaware County resident he was a graduate of Darby High School, class of 1976 where he was 1st team All Delco in basketball. At 6’8’ he was known as a gentle giant. John worked for Container Corporation of America until an injury forced early retirement. John then went and studied computers and became an IT Professional for NET X. A skilled craftsman, he enjoyed working with his hands and was a DIY'er  in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and car repair. He also enjoyed restoring old Ford Broncos and listening to music. Most of all he was devoted to his family as loving husband to Kathleen  (nee Foley); father of John F. Westermann, (Brittany), Jacqueline Westermann,  Grandfather of Zach & Amelia; Also survived by his sisters Nancy Vogt (Bill) and Susan Redding (Jack) and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  11 am to 12noon Tuesday at the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington

Funeral Service will be noon Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026
