The Life of Mrs Janice A. Weiser

Janice A. (Grove) Weiser, 87, died on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Providence Place of Dover.

She was the wife of Ronald L. Weiser, sharing 61 years of marriage.

Janice was born during a snow storm at York Hospital on January 14, 1936, daughter of the late Harry E. and Emma B. (Garner) Grove.

Janice graduated from William Penn Senior High School, Class of 1953. She retired from ACCO (American Chain and Cable Co.) in the Salary and Payroll Department in 1999. Janice was a member of and past matron of White Rose Chapter #360, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Sychar White Shrine #36. She was a 75 year member of Fourth United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and pianist for the kindergarten department for many years. She was also a recent worshiper of the Yorkshire United Methodist Church. Her greatest joys in life were her cats and caring for her husband.

In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by her sister-in-law, Annette Wimer of York; nephew, Rev. David Trostle and his wife, Soonsee of Montoursville; three nieces, Jodie Wimer of York, Sharon Kelly and her husband Chris of Red Lion, and Lori Heaps and her husband, Mark of Dallastown; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen and her husband, Wayne Trostle, and her brother-in-law, Donald Weiser.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Greenmount Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fourth United Methodist Church, 20 N. Lehman Street, York, PA 17403 or to Yorkshire United Methodist Church, 125 Edgewood Road, York, PA 17402.
