The Life of Irene Powell

Irene Powell, age 90, of Springfield and formerly of Colwyn, passed away peacefully Friday, May
12, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Born in Sanford, Maine, Irene was the daughter of the late Henry and Yvonne Charland. She was raised and educated in West Kennebunk, Maine.

Mrs. Powell was a longtime resident of Colwyn, where she and her husband raised their children. She has been a resident of Springfield for the last 14 years, where she lived with her daughter and granddaughter.

A homemaker, Irene was a beloved wife, mother and Me-Mom, she found her happiness taking
care of and being with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to
various locations, including Maine to visit her family, and a memorable trip on the Concord to
Europe with her husband.

Along with her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband, George W. Powell, 3rd; her son, Ronnie Powell; and her brother, Arman Charland.

She is survived by her daughter, Jayne Craig and her granddaughter, Deni Craig. She is also
survived by her brother, Roger Charland; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Arlington
Cemetery, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Those planning on attending should gather in
the circle in front of the main office by 10am, for a motorcade procession to the grave.
