The Life of Mr. Robert B. Crouthamel
Robert B. Crouthamel, 91, formerly of Laureldale, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the widower of Annabelle L. (Keim) Crouthamel, whom he married on May 2, 1953, and who died on January 6, 2014.
Born in Quakertown, Robert was a son of the late Raymond and Edna (Bleam) Crouthamel. He was a graduate of Quakertown High School and attended Muhlenberg College, Allentown. Robert honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Robert was the owner and operator of the former Society Printers, Reading, for 26 years until his retirement in 1997. He also worked as a Certified Public Accountant at the former Hoxworth and Co., Reading for five years and as an Office Manager at Quaker Maid Kitchens, Leesport, for 15 years.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale, Reading Lodge #549 F. & A. M. and VFW Post 12, both of Reading. After his retirement, Robert along with his late wife Annabelle, enjoyed RV-ing around the United States. He also enjoyed photography.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Robin C. (Crouthamel), wife of James D. Robertson, Reading; grandson, Brian C. Robertson, Baltimore, MD; and sister-in-law, Carol Crouthamel, Telford. Along with his wife and parents, Robert was predeceased by his grandson, David C. Robertson in 2019; sister, Ruth (Crouthamel) Brightbill in 2020; and brother, Ralph B. Crouthamel in 2007.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Robert's life will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Lauren Wolfe Blatt officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
