The Life of Kathleen Lynn Festerman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Kathleen “Kat” Lynn (Persinger) Festerman on February 4, 2023. Kathleen, age 61, battled a long history of medical problems and she died surrounded by family.

Kathleen was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 20, 1961.  Her family moved to Covington, Virginia before returning to Baltimore.  She made her home in Harford County and resided there until her passing.  

Kathleen held many careers throughout her life, the most prominent being her career as a chef. Kathleen was a passionate cook and shared her love of cooking with many. She had many other talents as well.  She had keen interests in home projects, sewing, baking, decorating. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could cultivate laughter in any room with her jokes.  She was also an avid dog-lover.  She was a caring, loyal friend and shared rich lasting friendships with Susan Soul, Catrina Jones, and Sharon Snow.  She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother to her family. 

Kathleen was survived by her husband, Kenneth Festerman Sr, her son Jason Mallon and his wife Christine Mallon, her son Michael Bosse and his wife Courtney Bosse, her daughter Kristina Bosse and fiancé David Perkins Sr, and her son Kenneth Festerman III. She is also survived by her grandchildren Quade Tresnak, RaemiAnn Tresnak, Jason Dowell, Travis Mallon, David Perkins Jr., Makayla Bosse, Liana Perkins, and Micah Bosse.  She is survived by her great-grandchildren James Wellborn and Kinsley Dowell.  She is also survived by her brothers Edward Persinger and Charles Lee Persinger, and her sister, Margaret Ann Quoos.  Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Plott Moser, her stepfather, Cletus Moser, and her father, Rufus E Persinger.

It was Kathleen’s wish that her death not be mourned but instead that her life be celebrated.  Following cremation, a Celebration of Life event is planned.  Please contact the family for details. She will be forever remembered for her dedication and love for her family and for her strength and resilience- she was “ONE TUFF CAT.”

Talents

Amazing seamstress , loved watching her make curtains and Halloween outfits for Liana.  Her personality was special and sincere. Most of all I loved eating so many of her dishes as she was a great cook.

Junior High School

Kat and I had several classes together in jr. high. After high school we knew each others friends but didn't see each other much. I married another one of her friends after not knowing.We didn't hook back up until we met up on facebook. We talk several times a week. I know she was dealing with her health. Didn't know how sick she was until this pass summer. Kat glad we hooked back again. Will see you in the next life for sure. Kenny, Eddie and Charles  and family,our prayer are with you.
