The Life of Mrs Gladys L. Flickinger

Gladys L. (Myers) Flickinger (92), daughter of the late Walter and Emma Myers and wife of the late Carl Flickinger. Her marriage lasted 60 years (2006). Mother of George “Skip” Flickinger and mother-in-law to Jamie.

Gladys was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School, class of 1948.

Gladys was a Third Generation member of Bethany UCC, 740 W. Locust Street in York where she was President of the Women's Guild and Consistory member. Now a member of Faith UCC.

Gladys was a 30 year employee of the Bon Ton Department Store, working mostly in the marking room, and a volunteer at the Bird Cage at Memorial Hospital in York.

She was preceded in death by brothers Charles E. Myers, Russell E. Myers, sisters Joyce Myers, Catherine Keeney, and three sister-in-laws Joan Myers, Phyllis Myers and Darlene Myers and brother-in-law Donald Keeney.

She is survived by brother Robert W. Myers and numerous nieces and nephews.

The services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave. York is assisting with arrangements.
