The Life of Mr. Quentin J. Landis

Quentin J. Landis, age 97, of York, died at 5:15 PM Saturday, January 28, 2023, at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Kingston Court. He was the husband of the late Betty L. Landis.

Born August 20, 1925, in York, a son of the late John M. and Ella R. (Lauer) Landis, he was retired from Tastykake and had also worked for Central School District. He was a member of Saint Jacob’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in York New Salem and former member of Trinity United Church of Christ. He was also a World War II Navy veteran, serving on the USS Massachusetts.

Mr. Landis is survived by a daughter, Debra A. Kann, of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Cindra L. Giles and Gary J. Kann; five great grandchildren, Nichole Miller, Adam Kohler, Elise, Gillan and Luke Kann; five great-great grandchildren, Cooper and Calvin Miller, and Hank, Stella and Sterling Kohler; two brothers, Jack E. and Gary L. Landis; and his companion, Evaline Cousler. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Leroy, Dale, George, and John Landis, and two sisters, Thelma Landis and Valencia Bortner.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Friday, February 3, 2023, at The Semmel Chapel of Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, 849 East Market Street, York, with The Rev. Lisa Hair officiating. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
