The Life of Henry John Crosson

Henry John Crosson, beloved son of Marija and Michael, came into the world on October 24, 2022. He left it suddenly and far too soon on January 21, 2023, but this obituary and our memories will be about what he brought to it. And he brought so much.
Henry had an incredible smile. He looked right at you with alert eyes and smiled at his name and songs. We sang to him every day, and he sang back. He had the most beautiful coos and gagas. We couldn’t wait to hear his voice and his songs. We’ll still always listen for them.
Henry joined us as the youngest of three wonderful boys. He is so incredibly loved and missed by Owen, 4, and Noah, 2. They showered him with love and physical affection—a lot of it. One of their favorite things was when one of us would hold Henry and have him hop and dance on the kitchen island. Henry loved it, too. We would’ve all danced together many nights to all kinds of music.
Henry visited many parks in Philadelphia in his almost three months here. He watched his brothers run and climb, and we all pictured him joining them as soon as he could. He always looked like he was ready to join them.
We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received. For those who met Henry, we’re so glad you got to know our beloved “New Baby Henny.” For those who didn’t, you would’ve loved him. And he would’ve loved you. As many have rightfully said, there are no words for our loss. We are devastated—as we should be. Our grief is commensurate with the love we had for him and will always have for him.
We will remember Henry every day, in ways that make us laugh, smile, and cry—often at the same time. We invite all who are able to help us remember and celebrate Henry’s beautiful but too-short life in a service at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Philadelphia at noon on Saturday, January 28, 2023. The service will also be available online. All are also welcome at a visitation at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 5 – 7 pm. Additional information is below. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Henry’s memory to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, or The Friends of Laurel Hill.
Dearest Henry, we will love you forever and we will treasure every moment we had with you, even as we long for what would have been. As we told you in our last moments with you, death does not defeat, and we will see you again. Until then, we will remember and celebrate your time with us—you made us happy beyond what we can possibly express.

    Your loving parents,

    Marija and Michael Crosson

Praying for you to find comfort

Reading about Henry today was so beautiful; I may never feel the pain you have but you will always have Henry with you when you keep his memory; you should take a set of his clothes and stuff them so you can hold him and hug him again - you are in my prayers
