The Life of Alexander R Reid

Alexander R. Reid, 85 of Drexel Hill and formerly of Aldan passed peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the home of his daughter in West Chester.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Alex was the son of the late Alexander and Minnie (nee Nelson) Reid. He was a graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School, and was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves. Al was an electrical contractor who was self-employed for many years, before retiring from the Springfield School District.

An avid NASCAR enthusiast, Al also enjoyed crabbing and fishing with family and friends along the Jersey Shore and the Wye River in Maryland. In younger years, he bowled in many local leagues in Havertown, Philadelphia and Sharon Hill. He was a previous Past Master of the Artisans, Bartram Lodge and member of the Marine Corp League Chester-Upland.
Along with his parents, Al was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen E. (nee Duling) Reid. He is survived by his children, Alex (Michelle) Reid, Kerry (William) Faix, Matthew (Angela) Reid, Tim (Mary) Reid; his brother, Jerry (the late Ginny) Reid; and 12 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Aldan Union Church, 7 E. Providence Road, Aldan, PA. There will be a viewing 10:45-11:45am and a Service will begin at 12:00pm.

Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Aldan Union Church Missionary Fund, 7 E. Providence Road, Aldan, PA 19018 would be appreciated by the family.
