The Life of Paul S. Rothermel

Paul S. Rothermel, 90, of Albany Township, died peacefully Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family, while on hospice care.  He was the widower of Evelyn I. (Krick) Rothermel, who died 15 years ago to the day, January 11, 2008.  Born in Maxatawny Township, Paul was a son of the late Alfred M. and Stella (Miller) Rothermel.

Paul first worked for the former Bowers Battery Company, Reading; then the Former Wenton Shoe Factory, Kutztown; and finally, East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station, where he retired after 29 years of service in 1994.  Following his retirement, he worked at the former Skyview Restaurant, Lenhartsville.

Paul is survived by two daughters: Virginia L. (Rothermel) Lockhart, Kutztown; and Tina M. (Rothermel), wife of Jimmy N. Middleton, Okeechobee, FL; a son, Kevin E. Rothermel, Kempton.  Other survivors include two sisters: Thelma (Rothermel) Bailey, Hamburg; and Ruth (Rothermel) Reider, Oley; a brother, Wayne Rothermel, Trevorton, Northumberland County. There are four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was predeceased by a son Dennis H. "Bear" Rothermel; a daughter, Linda C. (Rothermel) Wotring; and brothers: Herbert, John, Jacob, and Norman.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Paul's life will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Catherine Frederick, officiating.  Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.

So sorry for your loss.  I remember Uncle Paul and family visiting us when I was young.   May he Rest In Peace.
