The Life of Ms. Kelly Marie Mazzo

Kelly Marie Mazzo, age 25, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Kelly was born in Portland, Oregon on July 28, 1997, raised in Fairfield, CT and was a resident of Brooklyn, NY.

She graduated from Fairfield Public Schools and was pursuing a veterinarian technical certification to one day use her innate skills to care for animals.  She had some natural talents and caring interests throughout her life - dancing & rhythm (performance and just for fun), trombone playing (GBYO) martial arts, animal care - equine therapy and care, dogs, cats, bunnies, origami, sculpting and happily decorating for holidays.  She loved to bake and make her favorite foods (macaroni & cheese, pancakes, waffles, tacos, tiramisu cupcakes) with her mom and go on fishing excursions with her Dad. She enjoyed being with her sister and sister's friends and spending time with family during annual summer vacations at Water's Edge. She had a sense of humor and at times a prank-like fun side to her. She was an advocate for the LGBTQ community and always provided comfort to peers who needed her support. She was brave, resilient, independent, and protective.  Her priority for the past 4 years was building and caring for her own family. She adored her two children, who are examples of her love, laughter and tenderness.

Kelly will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Emmanuel Thomas (NY), cherished daughters, Zuri & Zara Thomas (NY), loving parents, Lorraine & Paul Mazzo (Fairfield, CT), adored sister, Marisa Mazzo & fiance Joseph Dostilio (Shelton, CT), aunt & uncles - Joseph & Linda Mazzo (godparents) (NY), Louis Guido III (VA), Angel & Don Garrison (OR), cousins - Raven, Todd & Oakely Massi (Milford, CT), mother-in-law, Michelle Richberg (NY), and many aunts, uncles, cousins and village of friends who loved her deeply. She is predeceased by her loving supportive grandparents, Frank & Margaret Mazzo (NY), Nana and Poppy, Louis & Genevieve Guido (FL).

Calling hours will be held on October 14th, Friday from 3 to 7 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on October 15th, Saturday at 11 AM in Holy Family Church 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield, CT. Her interment will be private.
