The Life of Mr. Benjamin J. Jasko

Benjamin J. Jasko, age 82, of Fairfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on July 10, 1934 to the late Benjamin and Estelle Jasko of Staten Island. He was a graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn and attended Cooper Union in New York. Ben served in the US Army in Korea at the rank of Sergeant. He worked most of his life as an Operating Engineer for J.C. Penney which gave him the opportunity to bring his family to California to live for several years in Palo Alto and then in Huntington Beach before being transferred back to the Northeast residing in Fairfield, Connecticut for almost 40 years. After retirement from J.C. Penney, he worked for the Fairfield Public Library which he loved doing. He is survived by the love of his life Patricia Ann Jasko, his two sons, Michael Jasko and Paul (Kate) Jasko, a daughter Susan (Fred) Pell and four grandchildren, Sarah and David Pell and Benjamin and Kyle Jasko. Words to describe him - gentle, kind, intelligent, and most of all funny. Adoring and devoted husband, incredible father and an incredible grandfather - who was so proud of his four grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered & greatly missed by countless friends & family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:30 AM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S Benson Rd., Fairfield. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM up until the time of the service.
