The Life of Charles Nelson Yost

Charles Nelson Yost, 83 years of age, and a resident of Wakeman, passed away November 11, 2022 at Specialty Hospital in Amherst, following a long illness.

 

He was born January 19, 1939 in Mannington, West Virginia.  Charles had made his home in Wakeman for most of his life.

 

He proudly served in the United States Air Force.  Charles was employed at Avon Lake Truck Plant for thirty-two years before retiring as a maintenance supervisor.  He was active with the Easton Township Masonic Lodge #322.  He enjoyed the rugged outdoors, especially enjoying hunting and fishing with his buddies..  Charles was known to be an all around good person to everyone he knew. He always enjoyed lending a helping hand with friends to anyone who was struggling or in need. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.  Charles will be remembered as an exceptional husband, father and friend.  

 

Survivors include his wife of twelve years, Linda Yost (nee: Beach); his children, Tony Yost and Chado Ledford both of South Carolina, Kenneth (Jen) Beach of Avon, Derek Beach of Plainfield, Illinois and Jason Beach of Amherst; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Tom Yost and Kay Foisy; and his parents, Merriam and Fleda Jean Yost (nee: Wilson).

 

Friends may call Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. A Masonic Service by the Easton Township Masonic Lodge #322 will be held at 7:30 p.m. the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com.  The Major Gayle Miga of Salvation Army, will officiate.
