The Life of Laura Emogene Tanner

Laura Emogene "Mama-Jean" Tanner, age 83, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022.

 

Laura was born on April 30th 1939 in Newton, West Virginia, where she met her loving Husband of 64 years, Sherlie R. Tanner.

 

Laura is survived by her husband, Sherlie Tanner; her son, Steve Tanner; and daughter, Pamela (William Hellinger) Tanner; grandchildren, Anthony (Hali Tharp) Tanner, Anastasia (Mark) Majoras, Steven Tanner, and Andy Tanner; great grandchildren, Zephaniah Tanner, Xander Tanner, Mazelee Tanner, McKenzi Tanner, Maelynn Tanner, Autumn Majoras, and Julian Majoras; and sisters, Betty Klingensmith and Sue Hensley, both of West Virginia.

 

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Clothin and Ethel Nichols; son, Walter Tanner; brother Clothin Jr; sisters, Pauline Harrison and Dorothy Tanner.

 

Laura enjoyed gardening and was known to make the best pumpkin rolls around.She was a huge sports fan and loved to watch Cleveland Cavs and Cleveland Browns play. She worked 25 years at Deluca's Place in the Park, where she loved to cater and host parties. She also enjoyed watching Christmas Specials on the Hallmark Channel.

 

The Family will receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2022 from noon until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.

 

Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Cemetery.
