The Life of John Stacy Naylor

11:00 AM Catholic services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for John Stacy Naylor, age 84, who passed away on Saturday morning, October 1, 2022 at his residence in Lafayette.

Reverend Steven LeBlanc, will serve as Celebrant and conduct the funeral services.

The Naylor family will receive guests at Martin and Castille's Funeral Home, 600 E. Farrel Rd., Lafayette, LA, on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Location.

Interment will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of sixty years, Mary Ann Fung Naylor; daughters, Lynette Naylor Burnham and her fiancée, Michael Vincent, and Elizabeth Naylor (Clinton Broussard); his grandsons, Tyler Christopher Burnham and Arthur Stacy Naylor, III and his brother, Lloyd Frederick Naylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Stacy Naylor and the former Mary Louise Vial; his son, Arthur Stacy Naylor, II; his brother, Rodney Arthur Naylor, Sr., and his son in law, John W. Burnham.

John was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Lafayette the majority of his life. After his family moved to Lafayette, he then became a student at Cathedral School. He then attended Jefferson Military School in Mississippi for a couple years before graduating from Cathedral High School.

John would answer the call of this great nation and joined the United States Marine Corps where he served four years and was stationed in Iwakuni, Japan until he was honorably discharged. John began a career in communications and worked as a Supervisor for AT&T/South Central Bell for the next thirty five years. After retirement, he worked for Wireless One for a number of years. Upon fully retiring he stated, "Now enjoying the fruits of my labor, doing what I want to do when I want to do it."

Some of his hobbies included photography and numerous projects, machinery, traveling, camping, fishing, reading, woodworking, hunting, HAM radio, walking five miles a day and playing with his grand-dog, Buddy. Some of John's attributes were, having a true thirst for knowledge, telling jokes, being a prankster, and citing his wide range of limericks.

Although John had many interests in life, his greatest passion was spending time with his family and lifelong friends.
