The Life of Jeannine C. Lawrence
Jeannine C. Lawrence
Jeannine Dawn Chamberlain Lawrence, accomplished singer, nurse, scout leader, gardener, seamstress (and so much more), peacefully passed away on September 12, 2022 at the age of 90 in Wilmington, Delaware.
Jeannine grew up in Elmira, NY and graduated from Rochester School of Nursing, where she spent most of her adult life. She was married to husband Dr, Neil Lawrence for 67 years.
Her life was filled with family and music. Even in her elder years she was able to hit all the high notes in song. She would talk your ear off yet still spend hours nurturing her iris, roses and saving her veggies from the wildlife. A proud Registered Nurse, she assisted husband Neil in his dental practice for many years. When she wasn't working or volunteering, she could be found at the grocery store talking to everybody in town.
She engendered inclusiveness, a love and respect for all, with a strong faith throughout her life. She is already missed yet surrounds us with love and song. As her legacy we have a lot to live up to.
She is preceded in death by parents, Nicholas and Pauline and sister Virginia. She is survived by sister Kathryn, husband Neil, and 4 children: Earl (Kathy), Melanie (Pat), Patty (John) and Scott (Jo). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Caitlyn (Mark), Matt (Justine), Ellen, Tom, Zack and 3 great grandchildren Olivia, Michael and Emma. Jeannine is also survived by her friend Helen, who shared both a home and family for many years.
