The Life of CAROLYN LEE BUCKLIN

Carolyn Bucklin, 82, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was born December 15, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of William and Ollie (Baker) Skidmore.

Carolyn graduated from East High School. She worked for Polk County for more than 30 years where a majority of her career was with the Sheriff’s Department.

Carolyn enjoyed bowling, knitting, and crafting.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Debra Robinson and Douglas Bucklin; grandchildren, Brian (Marsha) Norton, Amy Miller, Emily (Nick) Hesse, and Audrey Dell; great-grandchildren, Kaeden, Lincoln, and Bailey Jo; as well as a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ollie Skidmore; husband, Robert Bucklin; daughter, Jodi Bucklin Dell, and 7 siblings.

A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. A private graveside service will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
