The Life of Mrs. Ida Catherine Gorsuch

Ida Catherine (Wiltraut) Gorsuch, 91, of Kempton, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in The Lutheran Home at Topton where she was a resident since 2020. She was the widow of Kenneth Eugene Gorsuch, who died September 30, 2017 and with whom she shared 56 years of marriage prior to his passing.

 

Born in Kutztown, Ida Catherine was a daughter of the late Paul F. and Verna E. (Ruch) Wiltraut. She was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School and attended Syracuse University. Ida Catherine was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli. She was a homemaker who took great pride in raising and caring for her family. She loved her children and grandchildren immensely. Ida Catherine enjoyed shopping, crafting, reading and being outdoors.

 

Ida Catherine is survived by her children, Pamela L. Zimmerman (Craig), Kempton, PA, Linda S. Gorsuch, Kutztown, PA, Susan C. Flamisch (Jeffrey), Emmaus, PA, Paul K. Gorsuch, Dover, DE, and Melissa S. Gallon, Cockeysville, MD; and eight grandchildren.

 

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Ida Catherine's life and burial will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, 123 Church Lane, Kutztown, PA, with The Reverend Dr. Colleen G. Kristula, Chaplain at The Lutheran Home at Topton, officiating.

Activities

Ida and I met at the Topton Lutheran Home and instantly became friends. Ida was always there to participate in my activities and we shared many laughs and smiles during those times. She was a light in our lives and will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for the families loss, may she rest in peace.
