The Life of Edward E. Loughman

Ed passed away quietly on August 4, 2022 at Inova Alexandria Hospital. He was born to the late Edward and Loretta Loughman in 1941 on City Island, NY.  Ed is survived by his partner of many years Paula Tebben. He leaves four brothers Thomas, James, William and Daniel, two sisters Ann Loughman and Lore Brady and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother John predeceased Ed.

Ed enjoyed watching and attending Washington Commanders football games as well as other sports. He enjoyed International travel, visiting and/or communicating with his relatives in Ireland, and visiting his second home in Myrtle Beach.  He was an avid observer of the US political scene and kept up on current events. His devotion and attention to his two silver poodles was amazing.

He graduated in 1959 from Cardinal Hayes H. S. In 1963 Ed earned a BA from Iona College and later a BBA and MBA from American University. His career as an Executive Manager for Federal Contracts spanned over 50 years. He had invaluable knowledge of contracts in the Federal /Prime contractor community. He represented organizations including Deloitte, Computer Sciences Corporation, Hewlett Packard, Digital Equipment Corporation and others. 

Relatives and friends may call at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home in Alexandria, on Thursday, August 11, from 5 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (https://alexandriaanimals.org/).   Interment at Ivy Hill Cemetery is private.
