The Life of Stanley J Socko

Stanley J. “Stash” Socko, 79, of Orwigsburg, passed away Friday, August 5th, at Seton Manor.

Stash was born in Pottsville, on June 16, 1943, a son of the late Helen (Konopka) and Stanley Peter Socko.

He was the husband of Earlene “Kickie” (Fenstermacher) Socko and he was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church Schuylkill Haven.

He served in the U.S. Army and was employed with Bright A. Berger & Sons, Orwigsburg as a sheet Metal Fabricator.

Stash was an avid outdoorsman, He enjoyed hunting, going for walks but his true love was his family.  Pap will be missed by many for his generosity & community involvement. He belonged to the Minersville Fish & Game Club.

In addition to Kickie, his wife, Stash is survived by his son, William Socko, husband of Lisa, of West Chester  and his daughter, Karen Coffey, wife of Brian, of Cressona.

Stanley is also survived by three granddaughters Jessica Coffey-Christiana, wife of Brian; Katelyn Mackey, wife of Matthew; Samantha Monks, wife of Chandler.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia (Tricia) Socko in 1983 and also his sister Marion Dunkle.

There will be an evening visitation, with family members present, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, August 10th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 11th at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Msgr.  Edward S. Zemanik officiating. There will be no visitation on Thursday. Interment will be in Schuylkill memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Minersville Fish & Game Club or to a Children's Charity of your choice in Stash’s name.
