The Life of WILLIAM EARL DUFF JR.

William Duff, Jr., 83, passed away on July 20, 2022, in Hudson, FL. He was born in Des Moines, on August 3, 1938, to William and Maxine Duff.

William proudly served in the United States Marine Corp, worked as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years, and retiring in 2000. He was a lifelong Methodist. While living in Des Moines he was a member of the Masons. William enjoyed fishing and camping with his family, traveling the country by motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. He and Carol spent the last 10 years as snowbirds in Florida.

William is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carol; children, Denene Haafke, Rae (Lonnie) Wassenhove and William III; grandchildren, Daniel and Alesha, Ashley, Hunter and Garrett; seven great-grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty and daughter Lisa.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association in loving memory of William.
