The Life of Mr. Gary L. Reidenhour

Gary Lee "Rudy" Reidenhour, 66, of Kutztown passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in his home. He was born April 17, 1956, in Reading, a son of the late George H. Reidenhour and Mildred (Werley) Reidenhour, of Kutztown, who survives. On September 23, 1978, he married the love of his life, Lori A. (Delcamp) Reidenhour, who survives. Together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.

Gary was a 1974 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. He worked for Berks Products from 1976 until 2017, most recently working for A.D. Moyer from 2017 until 2022.

Gary started shooting pool at the young age of five. He shot pool with his mom in their basement of Kutztown every Sunday evening. His love of billiards continued for many years playing for various local teams, one being the Stonersville Fire Co. where they won 11 championships in a row from 1986-1997. Gary spent many of his teenage years attending the stock car races at the Reading Fairgrounds. He enjoyed NASCAR, visiting several racetracks including Dover, Pocono, and Charlotte, and playing cards with his father on Saturday mornings. He enjoyed classic rock music from the 70's and classic cars owning several over the years like his 1967 Corvette.  You could find Gary on any given day riding his red wheelhorse lawn mower tending to his lawn and gardens or with a tool in his hand. Gary had an immense love for his wife, children, three granddaughters, and many friends, a true family man loved by many.

Gary was a member of the St. Paul's U.C.C. Church in Kutztown and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #839 (FOE) of Kutztown. One of Gary's favorite quotes was "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today." - James Dean.

The family would like to thank BAYADA Hospice for taking such special care of Gary in his final days.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two children, Brandon Reidenhour and companion, Sue Mitchell, of Kutztown, Brandi (Reidenhour) Long and husband, Chad Long of Kutztown; a sister Barbara Treichler, wife of Larry Treichler of Fleetwood, a brother Dennis Reidenhour, husband of Tracy Reidenhour of Kutztown; three granddaughters, Katelyn Reidenhour, Miranda Reidenhour, and Aubrey Long; and mother-in-law, Shirley (Kern) Delcamp of Kutztown.

Gary

I didn't know Gary very well but I know he was loved very much by his family. All you had to do was look at all those wonderful family photos that were displayed at the funeral. He must of been one heck of a guy because all those people came to show their condolences with your family. Now your dad and Gary can look at cars together in heaven. God bless all of you. Love Roxann.
