The Life of Leroy M. Johnson
Leroy M. Johnson, 85 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022. A college graduate with a Masters’ Degree in Human Services from Lincoln University, he is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Luetta Cowan; and survived by a large loving family and many friends. A well respected and recognized artist, Leroy was a dedicated educator and activist. Funeral Service at 1 PM on Friday, July 15th at Laurel Hill Funeral Home in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Burial to immediately follow. Family will accept donations of good deeds or contributions to Fleisher Art Memorial in lieu of flowers.

One of A Kind!
I will remember Leroy Johnson as a prolific, multi-talented artist I respected who gave me encouragement and advice. His rich legacy lives on within the younger artists he mentored. Leroy lived a full life and leaves behind indelible artistic footprints.

He was like family.
I will cherish the years we had together talking politics, culture, history, society and art. He was a great "art dad", mentor and friend. He was my family and my hero. I will miss his smile, his laughter, his humor and his wisdom. He left a hole in my heart. He was one of a kind. I love you LeRoy!
