Delores A. "Tootie" (Miller) Hellwig, 74, of Mertztown, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Ceder Crest, Salisbury Township, where she was a patient for three weeks. She was the widow of David G. Hellwig, who died on October 5, 2017, and whom she married on March 16, 1968.

Born in Allentown, Tootie was a daughter of the late Oliver P. and Geraldine M. (Hess) Miller and was a 1965 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton. Tootie was a devout Christian and was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown. She was deeply involved with the church, helping wherever she could, and was a member of their caring committee. She was also a dedicated member of the Longswamp Township Historical Society, where she currently served as the Fundraising Committee Chair, and The Longswamp Union Cemetery Board. Tootie enjoyed sewing, baking, taking walks and will be fondly remembered for her love of carrots. Tootie's kind and generous personality will be carried on by her family and many friends. In her last act of generosity, Tootie donated her corneas to SightLife Cornea Donation, in hopes to give another person a chance at sight.

Tootie is survived by her two daughters, Connie L. (Hellwig), wife of Lawrence J. "Larry" Falatko, Mertztown, and Susan J. (Hellwig), wife of Deron M. Stiff, Alburtis; and two sisters, Pat L. (Miller), widow of Donald Conrad, Alburtis, and Sherry D. (Miller), wife of Chet Croll, Mertztown. Along with her husband and parents, Tootie was predeceased by two brothers, Dennis P. Miller and Randy D. Miller.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Tootie's life will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown, with The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman, officiating. Burial will follow in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
