The Life of Anna Elizabeth Yonts

Anna Elizabeth Yonts (nee: Fugate), 93 years of age, a former of Amherst and a current resident of Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, June 17, 2022, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Kentucky, following a full and meaningful life.

 

She was born September 22, 1928, in Talcum, Kentucky where she was raised and lived for many years. She moved to Ohio and resided in Lorain County with her husband for many years until his passing.

 

She returned to Kentucky several years ago where she has resided since.Her passion in life was her relationship with Jesus Christ and her walk with the Lord. She treasured her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and great great grandmother; her family brought her endless joy. Anna was employed at the Olive Factory in Vermilion for eighteen years. She was a member of the First Church of God in Elyria.

 

Survivors include her children Darcy (Carolyn) Yonts of South Amherst, Pamela Jordan of Stuben, OH; and Sharon (Roger) Machi of Crestwood, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; as well as her sister Mable Sheppard of Kentucky.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years Leslie Yonts on December 31, 1990; her son Ronnie D. Yonts on May 14, 2008; her brothers Chester, Henley, Sam and Lee Fugate; and her parents Frank and Eva Fugate (nee: Ritchie), and son in law Tom Jordan.

 

Family will conduct private family services Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Hempel Funeral Home. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . The Rev. Larry Newsome, pastor of Old Regular Baptist Church, will officiate.

 

Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
