The Life of Wayne Fender

Joseph "Wayne" Fender, age 58, from White Hall, MD passed away suddenly on June 22, 2022.

Wayne leaves behind many loved ones, friends and family. Wayne met his wife and the love of his life, Kristina through their shared passion for horses. Where there were two trails their love brought them together to create a single trail. They rode off into the sunset to create a life filled with love, fun and happiness, never looking back.

Wayne's legacy will live on through his daughter, Livia Pattman. Livia was Wayne's pride and joy and she and her husband Kyle gave Wayne his most cherished gift in his 2 grand daughters, Savannah (3) and Mackenna (8 months). Wayne was their Pop and they were the light of his life.

Surviving him are his siblings Cindy, Kevin Terri and Timmy as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceeding him in death by his parents, Helen and Joe Fender along with his late brother, Mike.

A farrier by trade, Wayne made a difference in the lives of countless horses and owners. His calm gentle demeanor could subdue the most nervous horse. Wayne was a trusted and respected professional in numerous barns throughout Maryland and Pensylvania.

It was the same calm demeanor, sense of humor and loving heart that attracted thousands of friends to him. If you knew Wayne, you loved Wayne. Wayne was a member of The League of Maryland Horsemen and Valley Lea riding club. He was always ready for the next gathering or trail ride.

Being true to his free spirit and his love of a party, in lieu of funeral services a celebration of life will be held on August 27, 2022. Details to be posted when available.

Friend

From the first time we met at a Jeff Stike gig our friendship was immediate and lasting. For years we were all groupies together, dancing and laughing. I called Kristina my dancing girl. She was always so energetic and laughing. Wayne was more quiet but you knew from the beginning he was a true friend. Today I was going back over all those good times and realized how very many of our gang is gone. It's heart wrenching. Goodbyes are hard for me, 17 in 4 years but God seems to calling the best of the best. Life will go on but will never be the same. Fly with the angels and watch over us dear Wayne.

Friend

From the moment we first met at a Jeff Stike gig I just knew we'd be friends forever. We all became part of our gang and spent wonderful afternoons or evenings dancing and laughing, just enjoying each other's company. Kristina was my dancing girl. She was so energetic. Wayne was quite but you knew from the start he was a true friend.. through the we laughed and had such fun times. My heart and prayers go out to all. It's still a shock! Fly high with the angels, our dear Wayne and watch over us. We love you for always. Gloria Stike-Joines, Angela Grace, Josie Grace, Jeff Stike, Cindy Stike

Dear friend

The first time I met you, was I was pulling in to Royal Farm for fuel and you were at the pump beside me!! I asked if you had any openings to shoe my horses!! You said not really at first, but we talked for a few minutes and I told you where I lived and you finally said yes!!! You quickly became a very dear friend, enterduced us to your horse friends and the rest is history!! We have had some really good and fun times!! We became the kind of friends that could call each other anytime of the day or night!!! You and Kristina made the best couple I know and were always happy and together!!! We all did a lot of dancing and singing!!  You shared your love of horses, camping, your home and family with us!! Such special gifts!! Your kindness and gentle demeanor will always be remembered!! Ride high, till we meet again on the trail

A Kind Soul

Wayne was one of the most kind and gentle souls I have ever known. The sound of his infectious laughter will stay with me, always. I am truly blessed to have known him.

Wayne Fender

Well honestly I'm still in shock over the loss of Wayne. I didn't know him but I did.  He was the farrier for my neighbors horses and a gal who boarded her horse at my place.   They both had nothing but great things to say about Wayne.  Now heaven is a better place because he is there.   Watch over all of us Mr Wayne Fender.  Keep riding all those beautiful horses that are with you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
