The Life of Mildred Beatrice Auer

"Mildred Beatrice Auer (nee Jockel), 78. Resided in Forest Hill, Maryland passed on May 27th, 2022 at Gilchrist Hospice after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer with her children at her side. She is the daughter of Charles Edward I and Mildred Jockel (nee Sipes) and the sister of Charles Edward Jockel II of Tennessee. She is the most loving and devoted mother to and survived by Michael Auer and his wife Suzanne, Stephen Auer and his wife Kathy, Lisa Ring and her husband Larry and Jamie Auer and his wife Mindy. She was also the proud grandmother and OMA to 7 grandchildren, Olivia, Lucas, Madeleine, Wyatt, Colton, Dakota and Savannah. She was the long time Dock manager at Inner Harbor East Marina in Baltimore until recently. She loved spending time at the beach and sitting by the ocean. Sailing was her passion, once sailing from Baltimore, MD to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She enjoyed traveling and trying new foods. She also spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren, teaching them to cook and do art projects. She was also a caring Grand Dog mother and often watched our family pets. A memorial service will be held at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Phoenix, 3911 Sweet Air Rd, Phoenix, MD 21131 on Wednesday, June 8th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Mustang Heritage Foundation in care of Millie who supported the rescue efforts of her family to save the wild Mustangs.
