The Life of MARIA S. ESPINOSA

Maria S. Espinosa, 74, formerly of Laureldale, died May 19, 2022 at ProMedica, Spring Township.

She was the loving wife of Edgar M. Espinosa who died in 2014.  Born December 24, 1947, in Morovis, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Felix Rolon and Ana Faria.   Maria was employed with Ames Distribution for 10 years.  She was a member of St. Peter’s R.C. Church, Reading.

Surviving are her four children: Jesus “Rick” Ortiz, husband of Carmen Rivera of Reading; and his children, Christopher Ortiz and Kayshla Ortiz; Ramon Ortiz, husband of Maria Rivera of Reading and his children: Rachael M. Ortiz, Ray Ortiz, Jr., Jonathan D. Ortiz, and Angelina M. Ortiz; Maria G. Espinosa, wife of William A. Roman of Reading and her children: Sophia L. Roman and Shamyro A. Roman; and Edgar Espinosa, Jr., husband of Rachael E.A. Espinosa of Orwigsburg and his children: Ashley M. (Espinosa) Rice, Jordan E. Espinosa, Alexandra J. Espinosa, and his stepdaughter, Alivia Drobnick.  Other survivors include her three great grandchildren: Connor Keppel, Alexis M. Roman, Myro Roman. 

 There are also eight siblings: Maria U. Rolon, Maria M. Rolon, Blanca M. Rolon, Maria S. Rolon, Paula Rolon, Maria M. Rolon, Madaglia Rolon, Ramon Rolon, and Jose Rolon Faria.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 3rd at 12 noon at St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 322 S. 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602.   Viewings will be held Thursday, June 2nd from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, June 3rd from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale.   Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
