The Life of Lois M. Hawk

Lois M. Hawk (nee Morell) passed away on May 20, 2022 at the age of 83. Born July 21, 1938 to the late Ralph and Margaret (nee White) Morell; she was the beloved wife for 63 years of William Mell Hawk, Jr.; beloved mother of Sally Jones (William), William Mell Hawk III, and Melissa Bierer (Matthew); cherished grandmother of Eliza G. and Frederich W. Bierer.

Lois attended Oakmont Elementary School, Haverford Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating in 1956. She went to Pierce Business School and worked for Provident Mutual Life Insurance Co. and Burroughs Corporation before marrying William in 1958 and starting their family. When her children were small, she remained at home, later working for Erwel Co. in King Manor and as a teacher's aide/tutor in the Norristown Area School District.

Lois was a talented seamstress and always enjoyed making some of her and her children's clothing, as well as knitting sweaters and making afghans. She also enjoyed travel, especially to the seashore, and maintained avid interests in keeping books of snapshots and stamp collecting, cooking and baking, gardening, and doing word search and jigsaw puzzles, and reading. Lois volunteered for many years at The Daisy Shop of Haws Ave. United Methodist Church.

Interment will be held privately.
