The Life of Leola S. Windle

Leola S. (Seemet) Windle

July 19, 1934 ~ May 9, 2022 (age 87)

We thank God for the life of Leola "Lee" S. (nee Seemet) Windle, age 87, of Springfield PA, who returned to her Savior on May 9, 2022, after a long illness. Lee is fondly missed by her husband of 65 years, Tom, daughters Wendy (Keith) and Laurie (Dan), 6 grandchildren: Jenna (Rob), Jeff (Jessica), Kohlton, Micah (Krista), Erica and Moriah; and 7 great-grandchildren Kaitlin, Jack, Gus, Nora, Caleb, Rosalee and Louie. She had a warm and caring nature and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her faith and family, and always put others before herself.

Lee could always be seen cheering on her children and grandchildren from the sidelines. As she became older and less capable of traveling, Lee would follow along on her iPad and narrate the action to Tom. She would always work to support family and friends no matter the personal cost. As Lee became confined to her home, she continued to reach out by phone and pray for those in need.

Lee graduated from Lansdowne High School and the University of Delaware. She was a substitute teacher in the Springfield (Delco) school district for many years. Active in her community and church, Lee is enshrined on the Springfield Volunteer Wall of Fame. She was president of the Springfield Women’s Club and sang and played piano for the club’s chorus. She also shared her love of music with family and friends. Lee was also active in many church activities, serving on numerous committees, and as a member of women's circles and the reassurance committee.

Lee will be sorely missed but she knows Jesus as her Savior and through that love, she loved those around her. Her family hopes to carry on her legacy of faith, service, and caring.

A funeral service for Lee will be at 10am on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 in Williamsburg Chapel in Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Rd., Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Burial will follow in the MacKay Section in Arlington Cemetery.
