The Life of Ruth L. George

Ruth L. (nee  Libhart) George, 100, of West Chester, PA, died May 6, 2022 at Paoli Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she had been a longtime resident of Broomall before moving to West Chester in 2012. A graduate of  West Phil. High class of '39 , Ruth received her Assoc Degree from Drexel University in 1941. She was a Bookkeeper at the Credit  Union at DuPont for 25  years before retiring in 1995. A 70 year Charter member at Trinity United Presbyterian Church of Clifton Heights, she served numerous roles as Treasurer, Deacon, Elder, Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member. In recent years she attended 1st Presbyterian Church of West Chester. An accomplished seamstress, Ruth enjoyed gathering with her sorority sisters but will be remembered as loving mom and  grandmother to 3 generations.. Predeceased by her husband Joseph R  George in 1989 and 1 grandchild, Survivors: include her daughters, Janet (Allan) Chew, Suzanne Leopold; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  

 Her Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 11, 2022, 11:00 am at Toppitzer Funeral Home @ Arlington
