The Life of Wasil Adam

Wasil Adam, 88, of Ansonia, beloved husband of the late Genevieve Sotek Adam died December 13, 2010 at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, Seymour. Born in Ansonia on January 11, 1922, he was the son of the late Nikifor and Petryna Smarz Adam. Mr. Adam was a life long valley resident, member of Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church and proud U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He worked as a sheet metal fabricator for the Sikorsky Co. for many years, retiring in 1987. He was an avid bowler and loved cheering for the Ansonia Football Team. He is survived by his daughters, Pauline Raven and her husband Keith of NJ and Lorraine Adam of Stratford; a sister, Helen Adam of Milford; cherished grandchildren, Aaron and Christine Raven of NJ, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters and four brothers. Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Interment with Military Honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.
