The Life of Norman Lloyd Melancon

Lafayette- Funeral Services for Mr. Norman Llyod Melancon, 92, will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, January 7, 2022, at David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 8:00AM until the time of services.

A native of Maurice and a resident of Youngsville, Mr. Melancon passed away on January 5, 2022. Mr. Melancon enjoyed fishing. He was a leader for the Boy Scouts. Mr. Melancon was very proud that his two sons became Eagle Scouts.

Mr. Melancon is survived by his wife of 72 years, Isabelle H. Melancon; two sons; Stephen Melancon of Baton Rouge, LA and Michael Melancon of Bronson, TX; four daughters; Norma Guidroz and her husband Timothy of Broussard, Connie Melancon and her husband Douglas Duhon of Church Point, LA, Lisa Dehart of Lafayette, and Mary Hubbell and her husband Thomas of Thibodeaux, LA; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Olive Melancon; one brother; Joesph Melancon; and two sisters; Ann Waters and Nursley Langlinais.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Hebert, Gerald Landry, Stephen Melancon, Michael Melancon, Jacob Dehart, and Justin Dehart.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337) 837-9887 is in charge of the arrangements.
