Yvonne Nicole Goodyear Bienvenu was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was an incredibly loving daughter and devoted sister to her three brothers, always lovingly guiding and steering them in the direction she thought was best for them. Growing up with many cousins, she loved every aspect of being part of a large, close-knit family. Yvonne attended Our Lady of Fatima School and Saint Thomas More Catholic High School. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. After college, she married her high school sweetheart, Andrew. Through the entirety of their ten years of marriage, Andrew remained Yvonne’s constant rock and the love of her life. She found her true passion at home as an adoring wife and devoted mother to her three beloved children: Isaiah, Josie, and Peter. It was obvious to anyone who met her that she simply loved being a mom. Her example of motherhood left a significant impression on many of her friends. Her unwavering and steadfast faith was the ultimate gift she gave her children.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, she lived her life as a woman of fierce faith and was convicted that the answer to all things was simple: Jesus. By her involvement in foreign mission trips, bible studies, and various other ministries, Yvonne helped to initiate or deepen many faith journeys. Humbly carrying her heavy cross these last two years, she remained faithful, continuing to find her hope and strength in Christ. As a true witness, she encouraged others to live with an eternal mindset.

With her creative spirit, she cultivated a home filled with beauty, warmth, abiding faith, and unconditional love. Her hospitality could be felt by anyone who walked into her door. One of her biggest joys in life was warmly welcoming loved ones into the sacred space of her heart and home. Her friends and family can attest to the fact that she could not be outdone in generosity. With Yvonne, there was no such thing as small love. She was intensely loyal to those whom she counted as family and, if you were a friend, you were also family.

She was a doer and made things happen. With Yvonne, nothing was impossible. Her determination allowed her to have a very successful career as an unlicensed amateur realtor, finding homes for friends and family-but only within the greater Greenbriar/Brentwood area. Yvonne was always up for a trip. Whether studying abroad in Paris, hiking the mountains of Montana with her family, or planning a spur-of-the-moment trip with girlfriends, she was an adventurous soul who loved finding beauty in new places.

While our hearts feel the unbelievable grief of Yvonne’s absence, we take solace in knowing that she has received the promise of eternal life. Her legacy will live on through her husband, children, family, and friends. In the words so eloquently written by Yvonne,

"Love is where you'll find me when you're wishing I was here.
So fill your life with so much Love to help dispel the fear.
I'm here in all the things that bring true joy to your heart.
Hold still, breathe deep, and remember to play your part."

Pallbearers will be Mark-Allen Goodyear, Mitchell Goodyear, Jason Goodyear, John Michael Bienvenu, Scott Bienvenu and Nick Cart.
