The Life of Suzanne E. Baldasare

Suzanne Elaine Baldasare of Fairfield passed away suddenly on January 4, 2022 following a brief battle with cancer. She was 65.
Born in Danbury, Suzanne first moved to Fairfield to attend Fairfield University before then exploring Boston where she completed law school at Suffolk University. From there Suzanne became a successful lawyer, excelling both in her practice and in leadership at multiple firms and ultimately rising to the position of managing partner for the New England offices of a national firm.
Suzanne returned to Fairfield in 1992, building a life with her son Andrew and dogs Abbey, Camille and Paisley in a home and town that she cherished. Suzanne's network of friends can attest to the unmistakable verve and kindness that permeated every way she lived her life. Suzanne loved her friends, she loved spending time with them, and she loved showing and sharing her love. Constantly on the go, on any given weekend you could be almost sure to find her lunching with a friend at a favorite haunt, sandwiched between gardening, seasonal decorating, cooking and importantly shuttling to just the right store to find just the right trinket to drop off for a friend or family member to put a smile on their face and brighten their day. Suzanne knew quite a bit of loss in her life, losing her father, Elbert, as a young adult and later her mother, Stephanie and brother, Bobby. Those losses instilled in her a strong sense of compassion and desire to uplift others and shower them with kindness, generosity and love.
Suzanne loved Andrew tremendously. Despite her devotion to her family, friends, career and charitable endeavors, Suzanne was first and foremost a dedicated mother to her Andy and never missed any opportunity to tell him how much he was loved or offer him all the support a child could ask for. If Andrew was in town, you could count on the two of them being together. More than mother and son, they were also best friends. Suzanne is also survived by her cousins by blood, sisters by heart, Cynthia and Sandra Ellis (husband David), her nieces Sarah Welsh (husband Brad and children Dylan and Ever) and Alexis Castells Marcovich (husband Michael) and nephews Jeffrey and Jesse Baldasare, along with multiple cousins and a vast group of friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 10 at noon at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield, where Suzanne was a devoted parishioner. Committal services will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. A viewing will be held immediately prior to the funeral Mass for close family and friends only, between 9:30 and 11:30, at Edmund W. Dougiello Funeral Home, 36 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. At the request of the family, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours will be required to attend the visitation; masking will be mandatory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Suzanne's honor to Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue.
