The Life of RUSSELL PAUL PINEGAR

Russell Paul Pinegar, 86, passed away December 25, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Russell was born August 28, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Wilbur and Clara (Berry) Pinegar.

Russell was member of the American Legion, VFW, and Teamsters Local #147. He proudly served in the Marines during the Korean War. He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Altoona.

Russell is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Jane Pinegar; children, Russell (Trish) Pinegar, Douglas (Cathy) Pinegar, Bradley (Sarah) Pinegar, and Robert Pinegar; step-children, Cathy (Douglas) Selby Pinegar and Jodie (John) Selby McDaniel; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Becky Pinegar and Maureen Pinegar; and a host of numerous other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, also at the funeral home. Russell will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or Cornerstone Church in Altoona in loving memory of Russell.
