The Life of Donna M. Bibbins

Donna M. Bibbins, age 62, of Oxford, beloved wife of Arthur S Bibbins, passed away on December 18, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.

Donna was born in Bridgeport on April 15, 1959, to Veronica (Hovanec) Sokolowski and the late Richard Sokolowski and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Harding High School class of 1977 and attended Our Lady of the Elms College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Donna was employed by McInnis Contracting Service LLC, working for Boehringer Ingelheim as a Clinical Associate She previously worked for Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Pepperidge Farm, Yankee Quilter and the Bolt Quilt Shop. Donna had unlimited talent, she loved to cook, bake, crochet and especially quilt.  Donna spread her love to all through her endless hours making personalized “special” quilts for everyone. Donna also loved dogs, especially her very own special fur baby “Oreo”.  She spent many hours volunteering at the Oxford Animal Shelter. 

Donna was an amazing person and loved by her family and friends, she touched the hearts of anyone who knew her. Survivors in addition to her mother and beloved husband of 26 years include her devoted sisters, Debbie Scott and her husband Robert of Stratford, DeDe Zhao and her husband Alex of Milford, and Linda Lauricella and her husband Bill of Monroe, mother-in-law, Dorothy Bibbins, sister-in-law, Joyce Kvaka, brother-in-law, Kenneth Bibbins and his wife Deborah, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 23rd at 12 p.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Inurnment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield.

The Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
