The Life of Mr. Ray L. Wagner

Ray L. Wagner, 89, of York, went home to be with his Lord & Savior after passing away peacefully at Country Meadows (Shiloh) on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:02 A.M. His family was by his side.

 

Ray was born on August 26, 1932, in York, PA. He was one of five children born to the late Willis & Amy (Barnhart) Wagner.

 

After graduating from West York HS, Ray proudly served in the Army (Army Security Agency) from 1951-1953. He served most of his tour of duty in Germany; after which, he served in the Reserves until he was honorably discharged in March 1961. In December 1956, Ray married Ella Elizabeth (Mauss) to whom he was married 50 years.

Ray was employed early on by Caterpillar and BMY (currently BAE); and later, by Duplex, from which he retired in 1995 after 29 years. For nearly 25 years, he faithfully attended Grace Fellowship Church (currently Genesis) in York New Salem.

 

Ray is survived by his children: Terry Lee Fengfish and wife, Pamela, of Christmas, Florida and Robin Rae (Wagner) Gladfelter and husband, Ricky, of York, PA; four grandchildren: Stephen Ross Fengfish and wife, Jessica, of Orlando, FL, Pamela Brynn (Fengfish) Allen and husband, Joey, of Williamsburg, VA, Jenna Rae Gladfelter of NYC, and Russ Davis Graham Gladfelter and wife, Sarah, of Lancaster, PA; and four great-grandchildren: Annalise, Wyatt, Eli, and Andrew.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Ella, and his four siblings: Ross, Rosella, Ronald, and Gladys.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in celebration of Ray's life on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N. Main Street, Spring Grove, with a viewing from 12:00-1:00PM followed by a burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery at 2:30 PM with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
