The Life of PATTI SUE BRAMAN

Patti Sue Braman, age 64, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021.

Patti was born April 11, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Sandra (Smith) Hilliard. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1975. She married Donald Batye on December 17, 1977 and to this union two children were born, Crystal and Scott. Patti was a homemaker and a hair stylist in her younger years. She was also an aerobics instructor at 7 Flags Fitness Center and went on to be Parts Manager for Stew Hanson Dodge. Most recently she devoted her time to being a full-time grandma for the past 12 years.

Patti enjoyed doing arts and crafts, sewing, making jewelry, and doing genealogy research. She had an eye for design and enjoyed remodeling her apartment. Patti’s faith was very important to her and she was baptized at First Assembly of God on September 19, 1996.

She is survived by her daughter Crystal Smith (Benjamin), son Scott Batye (Megan), nine grandchildren, her father Charles Hilliard, three sisters and one brother.

Patti was preceded in death by her mother Sandra Hilliard and her former husband Donald Batye.

A public visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will have a private service and burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
