The Life of Catherine M. Brenner

Catherine M. (Grim) Brenner, 96, of Leesport, passed away November 6, 2021 in Country Meadows, Wyomissing, where she had been a resident for over two years.  Prior to that, she lived her entire life in Leesport, with the last seventy years being in the same home.  Catherine was born April 12, 1925, a daughter of the late Raymond C. and Katie E. (Zellers) Grim.  She is survived by a son, Michael W. and his wife Glenda J. (Slate) Brenner, Annandale, VA.

Catherine graduated from Ontelaunee High School earning the distinction of salutatorian.  She then completed a two year business course at Reading Business Institute.  She was a member of the Reading Hampden Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church where she served as Treasurer for fifty years.  Catherine was employed by the Pennsylvania Conference of Seventh-day Adventists as an accountant, becoming assistant treasurer of the conference.  She worked there for thirty years, full-time, not completely retiring until twelve years later at the age of eighty-five.

Catherine was a devoted mom and dedicated employee.  She enjoyed gardening and maintaining her home.  She enjoyed cooking for church potlucks and visits by her son and his wife.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Catherine's life will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from Reading Hampden Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2706 Old Pricetown Road, Temple, PA  19560.  Interment in Saint John's (Gernant's) Church Cemetery, Leesport.  Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the church.
