The Life of Mr. Richard L. Kehm

Richard L Kehm, 80, of Macungie. Heaven gained an angel after losing his three and a half years courageous battle with AML on Saturday October 2nd. He was the loving husband of Phyllis J. (Ruff) Moss Kehm and was predeceased by his first wife, Dolores E. (Bauer) Kehm.

 

Born in Allentown, PA, Richard was a son of the late Clifford and Mary (Fluck) Kehm. Richard proudly served his country in The United States Navy and was a proud plank owner of the USS Kitty Hawk. Richard retired from Mack Trucks, Inc., after 30 years. In his retirement Richard enjoyed working in his yard and listening to country music and going to see his favorite band The Majestics. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a good friend. Richard was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd Alburtis, PA.

 

In addition to his wife, Phyllis, Richard is survived by his two sons, Ted R. Kehm, and his wife Diane, and Kevin L. Kehm, and his wife Kelley, both of Macungie; step-children, Michele (Moss) Solarek, and her companion Mark Glose, Whitehall, Timothy J. Moss, and his wife Michele, Macungie, and Thomas J. Moss, and his husband Hector, Alburtis; grandchildren, Alyssa (Kehm) Phal, and her husband Brad, Emily, Rachel, Alexandra and Grace Kehm; step-grandchildren, Janile Harris, and her husband Andrew, Alycia Kropf, and her husband Jordan, Taylor Moss, James Moss, Emily Moss, Brittaney Moss, and her fiancé Aaron Snyder; and his precious great grandsons, Holt Harris and Julian Kropf; and nieces and nephews.

 

Along with his first wife Dolores and parents, Richard was predeceased by three sisters.

 

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 E. Weis Street, Topton. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Church Cemetery, 1249 Trexlertown Road, Trexlertown, with The Reverend Dr. Matthew Gorkos officiating. Military honors will conclude the services. The family respectfully asks that everyone wear a mask and practice safety for the viewing to keep everyone safe.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Richard's memory to Church of the Good Shepherd UCC, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, PA 18011 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
