The Life of Mr. Thomas Palmer

Thomas Palmer, age 75, of Fairfield, beloved husband of 53 years to Patricia S. Palmer, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital.

The son of the late Bizzarino and Carmella Pagliaro, Tom grew up in Westport and had been an area resident for all of his life.  He was a graduate of Staples High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

After serving in the Army, he started his long career building electronic parts for satellite systems.  Tom loved working on various projects around his home and was always willing and immensely enjoyed helping others with their projects. He was a kind and gentle man and was a great storyteller and even better listener. Because of this, he found friends everywhere.

Tom amassed a vast collection of tools since he was a teenager, and he loved fixing all kinds of things, including cars, plumbing, and electrical.  He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Pat, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Brian Palmer and his wife Sharon of Fairfield and Gregory Palmer and his wife Lisa of West Haven; four cherished grandchildren, Owen, Allison, Gregory and James; a brother, Joseph Palmer and his wife Gwen of Fairfield; a sister, Joann Palmer of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Moss of Texas.

Friends may greet the family Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield.  Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
