The Life of STEVEN EMIL RAYGOR

Steven Emil Raygor, 63, passed through heaven’s gates Tuesday, September 21, 2021, after a courageous battle of cancer at home alongside his wife.

Steve was born in Storm Lake and finished his schooling in Jefferson, IA. Steve was married to Diane Reichelt for 30 years and raised their children in Urbandale IA.

Steve always had a giving spirit and enjoyed helping family and friends with various home remodeling projects. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and camping trips with his family. Written amongst his many tools and DIY projects, you will find his favorite biblical scripture, “In all things, give thanks.”

Steve is survived by his mother, Betty Raygor; his wife, Diane; four children: Johnny (Layla) Raygor and their daughter, Delenn (Gabriel); Shanna Raygor and her son, Brandon; Kristen (Michael) Groenenboom and their daughter, Elowyn; and Joseph Raygor. Also surviving are his four siblings, Leonard (Judy) Raygor, Barbara (Tom) Burns, Annalee Snizek and Rodney Raygor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, John.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.,Saturday, September 25, 2021, the New Hope Assembly Church Student Campus, 6800 Townsend Avenue, Urbandale, IA 50322. The funeral service will follow beginning at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021. The immediate family members will proceed to the burial at Highland Memory Gardens, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines, IA 50313. A luncheon will be served shortly after (at the church campus) and everyone is welcome.
