The Life of Byron E Brown

Byron E. Brown, 82, of Glen Mills passed away suddenly at home on September 16, 2021. Barry was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1957. After high school, Barry joined the workforce and then enrolled in the University of Baltimore where he graduated with a B.S. and an M.B.A. in 1986.  A proud American, Barry served in the Army National Guard from 1962-1965.

Throughout his adult life, he was an active member of the Wallingford Presbyterian Church, an athlete who exercised every day, a former football, baseball and softball player, and a 50 year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. While singing in countless quartets, he was a four-time Mid-Atlantic District Champion as the bass of the Union Jacks ('70), B&O Connection ('78), Curtain Call ('83),  and Tradewinds ('89).  One of his proudest accomplishments was finishing 3rd at the 1979 International with the B&O, and anyone who has had the pleasure of hearing them sing will never forget that sound.
