The Life of DONALD LEE LUNDEEN

Donald Lundeen, 85, passed away on September 15, 2021, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on November 7, 1935, to Donald and Cadijah Lundeen.

Don married on February 17, 1980. He spent 14 years working for the Rock Island Railroad. Don then moved on to being a car dealer, sales manager and eventually into property management. He loved dogs, old cars, flying, fishing, boating and eating cookies at Critchett’s. Don was a member of the Model A Club, Thunderbird Club, Hudson Club and Northfield Flying Club.

Don is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Dotti (Steven) Williams; son, Jeff (Tammy) Hawkins; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his dog, Black Jack; sister, Kim Scavo; brother, Robert Lundeen; sister-in-law, Kathy Lundeen; nieces, nephews and other loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald William, “Bill”; daughter, Cindy McBee; brother, George Lundeen; sisters, Jo Anna Nisser, Karen Penszky, and Debbie Babowitch.

A visitation will be held from 10-12 p.m., on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. The family kindly requests you pay your respects one family unit at a time. Please feel free to enjoy light refreshments with the family outside the funeral home. While inside the funeral home the family prefers masks be worn. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m., at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or the Puppy Jake Foundation, in loving memory of Don.
